"A history of an early 20 th century Jew who went AWOL from the Russian army due to
Anti-Semitism and emigrated from Eastern Europe to the USA. He settled in a sector of
Revere, MA, known as "The Ave.", a Jewish ghetto. That neighborhood and his grandson's
early life are described in detail, as are histories of Nationalism and Anti-Semitism. When
prejudices against Jews abated, the grandson's generation began relocating to accepting
communities. However, (fiction) a new President, practicing the worst in humanity,
promoted a spread of Anti-Semitism. The grandson then decided on a restoration of their
dignity by planning a return to The AVE., their youth's Jewish ghetto."
